workability of traditional sculpting with the practical advantages of a modern engineered
composite. FRP is lightweight (making large-format portrait sculptures easy to install and move),
highly durable (resistant to moisture, insects, and temperature variation), and capable of
capturing extraordinary surface detail, including the texture of skin, the depth of eyes, and the
natural flow of hair.

Our portrait sculpture process begins with a thorough photographic reference collection. We
work with multiple photographs of the subject from different angles, in good lighting, and in
various expressions. Our sculptors then create a detailed maquette (small-scale model) for the
client’s review and approval before proceeding to the full-size piece.

The finished sculpture can be painted in realistic skin tones for a hyper-realistic effect, finished
in a monochrome (white, grey, or black) for a classical sculptural aesthetic, or given a metallic
finish (bronze, gold, or silver) for an institutional memorial quality.
